Bringing the classical guitar to a major chamber music scene and with focus on new composers, Duo Abreu Sisters, hailed by the critics and acclaimed by audiences for their superb chamber music playing and innovative choice of repertoire, performs regularly at festivals and venues throughout Europe and their native Cuba.



Ariadna Abreu Ruiz, guitar 

Price winning guitarist Ariadna Abreu Ruiz has established her self as one of Cubas leading guitarists. Alongside her activities as a soloist and chamber music she is also a dedicated pedagogue. She graduated from the University of Arts in Cuba (ISA) with the gold distinction diploma. She holds a Master degree on research and investigation in Leo Brouwers guitar compositions at the Academy of Music and Drama Gothenburg University. Later on she graduated for further Master studies profiling solo performance and chamber music at the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm.

She has received numerous international prizes including the Guitar People Prize Upcoming Talent Stockholm 2011, The IV Guitar International Competition and Festival of Torrent Valencia Spain with Mention of Honour 2002 and The X Edition International Competition and Festival of Guitar Havana 2000 holding multiple awards.


Lissy Abreu Ruiz, violin 

Violinist Lissy Abreu Ruiz performs regularly as a soloist and in different chamber music constellations. She is a permanent member of the acclaimed Aurora Chamber Orchestra, ACO Sweden. An ensemble formed by world class string musicians under the leading of violinists such like Terje Tønessen, Svetlin Roussev, Nicolas Dautricourt and Gordan Nikolic. www.auroramusic.se

Ms. Abreu has as well as an orchestra musician there she is invited as regular guest player in world top orchestras like Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra, Orquestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg, Royal Stockholm Philharmonic, between others. Due to her orchestra experience she has hold significant invitations to audition at the Berliner Philharmoniker and the New York Philharmonic.

Lissy Abreu Ruiz studied for her bachelors at the Academy of Music and Drama Gothenburg University and for both her Master degree and Soloist Diploma at the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm.
