Ivana Ziherl studied guitar at the Music Academy in Ljubljana (Slovenia) and later at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade (Serbia). After graduating, she started working in the Music School in Kranj and since 2000 she has been working in the Music School Ljubljana Vič - Rudnik.

She has performed as a soloist, as a member of chamber ensembles, but also as a soloist together with orchestra. Thereafter she became completely devoted to pedagogical work. Her students have won many prizes both at national and international competitions and music festivals. She is often a jury member during national and international competitions and gives masterclasses.

Ivana Ziherl is also a co-author of Republic's plan and programme for guitar and bearer of the highest pedagogical titles in Slovenia.
