Luz Casal is one of the most famous Spanish artists with 14 albums sold in over five million copies with numerous compilation editions. Worldwide audience recognizes her and famous songs from movies by Pedro Almodavara, above all "Piensa en mi" and "Un año de amor" from the cult movie "High Heels". From several multi-platinum albums, most distinguished are: "A contraluz", "Como la flor Prometida" and "Un mar de confianza" with the famous song "Mi confianza", "Historia de un amor", "Se Feliz," or "Negra Sombra" the Oscar-winning movie "Mar adentro" directed by Alejandro Amenabar. In this region, Luz Casal is known for performing the song "Madrugadas" from the second part of the movie "Montevideo, vidimo se".

The opus of famous movie songs rounded out the title track of the movie "The Enchanted Forest", for which she won the prestigious Goya award. In addition to numerous awards in Spain, and the golden keys donated by  Madrid and Paris, Casal has recently received a special Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, and the prestigious French Order of Arts and Letters. Victory over breast cancer was marked by a very intimate album "Vida Toxica" (2007) inspired by heavy chemotherapy and, by her own admission, often hopeless situations from which came back to the world scene stronger than ever. Just three years later she was again diagnosed with cancer, which again was beaten in 2012, returning to the scene with three new songs and a compilation of jazz song "Un Ramo de Rosas". Luz is currently recording songs for a new album which is expected this year, and her album "Almas Gemelas" with which singled track "¿Por qué no vuelves, amor?" is still current.
