BOŽO VREĆO

BiH

  • concert

With his sixth album Lachrimæ, Božo Vrećo completes the whole of authentic Makam singing and original Sephardic lyrics, island songs and, through a range of song-writing and choruses that are autochthonous from BiH through all albums so far he formed a completely new innovative Makam approach to sevdalinka. Cathartic, transversal and unique, a lyrical tenor who, with his angelic voice, sings the deepest emotions with which everyone identifies. He sings about love, longing and separation, about sadness, melancholy and loneliness; each of his verses is like a confession and confirmation of love, hence such magic at his concerts.

He collaborates with world-renowned artists and writes new sevdah texts that his growing and growing audience simply adores. From Lejlija all the way to Saba, it is an unusual opus. Vrećo works on music and studies for ballet and opera, documentaries on sevdalinka and has avant-garde contribution to the same, and of course he works on studies related to the mystique of the Balkan autochthonous monophonic and polyphonic music.

His concerts are a complete dry trance that the sevdah originally completely liberated carries within itself, it releases all repressed emotions in people and thus, there are always tears at his concerts, as well as some supernatural energy that flows from person to person and makes a wave of excitement, love and catharsis without which there is no complete pleasure.

The duality with which this unusual artist radiates makes him one of the most important interpreters of modern karasevdah, which also enters the spheres of jazz, blues, spiritual and polyphonic.
