Vesna Petković (1959) is a guitar professor at the Faculty of Arts, University of Niš. She is also the director and founder of the Naissus Guitar Festival in Niš. She graduated in guitar in 1983 from the Music Academy in Zagreb (mentored by D. Petrinjak) and earned her master's degree at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade in 2006 (mentored by V. Ogrizović). Since 2000, she has been actively performing concerts both in the country and abroad (Greece, Spain, Bulgaria, Italy, Republika Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina), either as a soloist or in the "Crescendo" guitar-flute duo with Bratislav Zlatković. She was a participant in international festivals as a jury member, where she teached seminars and masterclasses. As an Aikido practitioner, she explores the Ai-Ki principles in guitar playing. She wrote a master's thesis titled "Basic Principles of Aikido in Correlation with Guitar Playing Principles" and conducts seminars on this topic.
