In 2001, in Belgrade, thanks to the initiative of Prof. Boško Radojković, the first founding congress of classical guitarists from Southeast Europe was held.
The main goal of the congress was to establish connections and collaboration among classical guitarists and guitar-related institutions in the region, as well as to promote classical guitar on a global scale.
Following the initial congress, seven more gatherings took place in different cities of Southeast Europe, namely: Ankara (Turkey, 2003), Plovdiv (Bulgaria, 2004), Kastoria (Greece, 2005), Ljubljana (Slovenia, 2006), Belgrade (Serbia, 2011), Poreč (Croatia, 2012), and Žalec (Slovenia, 2018).
