István Römer

István Römer studied guitar at the Hochschule fur Music and Performing Arts in Graz, where he graduated in 1984, as well as at the Zagreb Academy of Music, where he graduated 1983.

His brilliant career began with numerous awards in international competitions, where we allocate the first prize won by the mid-eighties in Mettmann (Germany) and the Competition Segovia in Palma de Mallorca, and, in Vina del Mar in Chile. In his list of performances recorded hundreds of concerts in Europe, South America and Asia. In addition to solo recitals and concerts with renowned domestic and foreign orchestras he often performs as a chamber musician – he gave many concerts in duo with cellist Valter Dešpalj and clarinetist Milko Pravdić. On most of the chamber music concerts he performed as a member of a prominent Zagreb Guitar Trio, with Darko Petrinjak and Goran Listeš. He produced eight recordings. He is a professor at the Music Academy in Zagreb.
