Rules

 HOW TO APPLY, RULES, ACCOMMODATION:

1. The deadline for submission of applications is March 2nd, 2026 je:

- Friday, March 6th at 12.00 for master classes

- Monday, March 9th at 12.00 for competition

2. The candidates need to submit the following:

  1. fully completed application form
  2. Proof of payment of the first installment of the registration fee (only when applying for master classes and competition)
  3. a copy of an identity card or passport (competitors only)
  4. the program (for both stages – competitors only)
  5. proof, i.e., original confirmation that the candidate attends a music school or academy (only for groups of 5 or more candidates from one school or academy)      

3.  Application Method

  1. In person: At the Guitar Art Festival office (Omladinskih brigada 86z, Novi Beograd). Working hours: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM, starting from December 29, 2025. Note: A prior announcement via phone is mandatory at: +381 64 140 7583.
  2. Via the website: By filling out the application form at www.gaf.rs.

Important Note: Candidates who send their application via email and do not receive a response after 10 days are requested to contact us at: +381 64 1407583.

4. The registration fees for participants are as follows:

     a. PASSIVE CANDIDATES: €120

Includes: A set of tickets for all Festival concerts, passive attendance of masterclasses, competitions, and promotions.

     b. ACTIVE CANDIDATES: €120 + additional costs

Includes: Festival concert tickets, passive attendance of events, plus: selected masterclasses (minimum 3 to maximum 6 individual lessons, 40 min each) OR competition fee (Categories III to VI): From €50 to €80, depending on the category. Candidates can choose both masterclasses and the competition.

Prices per individual lesson:

€40: Kostas Kociolis, Raphaella Smits, Francisco Bernier, Antonio Duro

€30: Manfred Stenflich, Sandor Papp, Karol Samuelčík, Srđan Bulatović, Vojin Ivanović, Aleksandra Ivanović, Momčilo Aleksandrić, Srđan Tošić, Aleksandar Hadži-Đorđević, Darko Karajić, Zoran Krajišnik.

      c. GROUPS (5 or more candidates from the same institution): €100 per person

Includes: Tickets for all concerts and passive attendance of all festival activities.

Conditions: Valid only for regular students and professors of music schools and academies in Serbia and former Yugoslav countries.

Group members can still apply individually for the competition or for 3–6 individual lessons under the standard terms.

      d. COMPETITION CANDIDATES - CATEGORIES I & II (Solo Guitar): €30 (Cat I) / €40 (Cat II)

Includes: The exclusive right to perform in the competition.

If a candidate also wants 3 individual lessons (40 min each), the additional fee is the sum of the selected lessons' prices listed above.

5. Payment should be made in two installments:

a. First Installment (To be paid before the festival)

- Passive candidates, employees, and groups: €60 per candidate (reservation fee).

- Active candidates: The total price of selected masterclasses.

After receiving application form, instruction for payment will be sent by e-mail.

* The payment slip should be sent with the application and other documents from December 29th, latest until March 10th 2026.

b. Second instalment (To be paid during registration)

- Passive candidates, employees, and groups: €60.

- Active candidates: €120 (+ any extra fees for competitions or additional lessons).

Payment should be made in cash at the GAF info desk at the "Dositej" Secondary School in Belgrade on March 11th, 2026, between 09:00 AM – 5:00 PM.

6. Groups of 5 or more interested candidates (students and professors) from music schools or academies who want to get a discount must self-organize and officially apply the same day along with all required documents and fees. Individual registration of candidates from the group will not be accepted.

7. The total number of master classes during the festival is limited to 200, and the total number of applied candidates is 80.

 

8. Registration process

Registration begins on December 29th, 2025.

All registered candidates who have paid the registration fee will be provided with 3-6 individual lessons, regardless of age, success, school, or origin.

 

9. Selection of Professors

In the application, the candidate lists up to 8 professors with whom they would like to have a lesson, in order of preference from the first to the eighth wish.

The Festival Committee, based on availability, determines 3-6 professors and creates a schedule which the candidate must agree to.

 

10. In case of cancellation by the candidate, the registration fee will not be refunded.

 

11. For parents and guests of the Festival there will be available a limited number of Passive applications at a price 80€.

The application is done at the same time as the application of the child.

 

12. Candidates themselves bear travel and accommodation expenses in Belgrade.

 

13. Accommodation is available in partner hotels located in Belgrade (bed and breakfast cost from 50 to 80€). Reservation should be made as earliest as possible by e-mail: office@gaf.rs.

 

14. Official registration and the collection of materials will take place on March 11th, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the "Dositej" Secondary School (Festival office).
