Carminho is a great vocal of fado and one of the Portuguese artists that has achieved the greatest international success ever!

“Fado”, her first album was released in 2009 and it became one of the most prominent albums of the year and decade. It had gone platinum – an avid result for a debutant – and opened the hearts of Portugal for her voice, and the door of the world for her talent: in 2011, the British magazine “Songlines” nominated “Fado” as the best album; she continues to perform in European capitals – on Womex in Copenhagen and in the Parisian UNESCO within the candidacy for the list of the world’s intangible cultural heritage.

In the same year, she collaborated with Pablo Alboran “Perdoname” and becomes the first Portuguese artist to have a number 1 song in Spain.  Her second album, “ALMA” from 2012 was the bestselling album in Portugal and has reached prominent position is several international top lists. After the performances in some of the greatest in Europe and around the world, such as: Finland, Sweden, Peru, Chile, Argentina, Colombia, China, India, Latvia, USA, Germany, Great Britain, South Korea, Poland, France, Austria, Denmark and Brazil where she makes her dream come true by recording with the musicians Milton Nascimento, Seiko Buarke and Nana Kazimi which brings to the new edition “ALMA” album with three new songs. Carminho starts to conquer Brazil – all concerts in Rio de Janeiro and all over the country were sold out.

By 2013, Carminho has established herself as one of the biggest international Portuguese artists, representing her voice in all corners of the world, while at the same time she had been rewarded in Portugal with a Golden Globe and Carlos Paredes award because both of her albums went double platinum.

By the end of 2014, she releases “Canto” and her relationship with Brazil is deepened even more with the first partnership with Caetano Veloso and his youngest son Tom, who gave her a song “Sol, Eu e Tu” (“The Sun, me and you”) as a gift. “Canto” includes a duet with Marisa Monte and a special involvement of Jacques Morelenbaum, Antonio Serano, Carlinhos Brown, Javier Limon, Naná Vasconcelos, Dadi Carvalho, Georges Elder and Lula Galvao.

During 2016, she received an invitation from a family of the world’s greatest composer, to record an album. The album is called “Carminho canta Tom Jobim”, and has guests such as Marisa Monte, Seiko Buarke and Maria Bethania. “Carminho canta Tom Jobim” has already went platinum and she was rewarded with a Golden Globe for the best performer.

After the great success with the album “Carminho canta Tom Jobim”, the Portuguese singer is one of the greatest performer in the music history of this country and she now returns with a new album filled with authentic songs.

In a never-ending dialogue and perfect harmony with what she got form two magnificent sources - Beatriz da Conceição and Teresa Siqueira (her mother), with whom she learned to “respect the truth of the songs and lyrics” but also to respect her own voice as something unique and most personal that she can share with the world, Carminho is free to be a fado singer as she is, ready to take risks and embrace challenges to come.

Her path so far has revealed us this artist of strong and careful decisions, who never forgets her heritage and bears a century old language within her, but she is also modern, connected with her generation and always looking into the future.
