Janne Janne
Janne Schra founded Room Eleven in
2001 by the board advertising at the
Conservatory in Utrecht. Their first album
„Six White Russians and a Pink Pussycat“
from 2006, achieved a great success. Room
Eleven performed at the Montreal Jazz
Festival, North Sea Jazz, Oreol, Crossing
Border, and in Japan. In 2008, Janne and
Room Eleven released „Mmm... Gumbo? “,
inspired by sounds of carnival in Louisiana,
alternative jazz, as well as Indy pop tracks.
Room Eleven were established as a stage
attraction. Janne Shra took part in „Gains
Nord“ dedicated to Serge Gainsbourg.
Parallely with music and poetry, Janne is
dedicated to painting. After many years of performing with the very successful band Room Eleven, traveling around the world and receiving 2 golden and 1 platinum album, the band reached a point of satisfaction and felt creatively done. Leadsinger and main songwriter Janne Schra decided to take new steps, to work and write with new people, to find back the roots of being a performer and writer. Together with Stef van Es guitar, Satindra Kalpoe drums, Lucas Dols bass and Tony Roe keys she definitely got that inspiration back and together they’re looking for an honest sound that gets to soul, nothing less.
